Homecoming Day 3: Extreme Basketball

October 15, 2014, the Valiant community gathered in the Saint Genevieve gym to participate in another homecoming activity. The activity was extreme basketball. The Good Life

My 4 years here at St. Genevieve High School were awesome! Honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted to go to any other high school because this school is truly different. From the fun I had in athletics, the events we have at school, to the success I had in academics, all of the memories here were great. Not only that but my senior class is actually really close and it will be a truly bitter sweet moment to graduate.

Why are Some Sports More Popular Than Others?

During The Fall season, the three sports that are in action are girls volleyball, cross country, and football. After asking several students, “If you are able to put the fall sports from most important/popular in this school, what would it be?” they answered either “football, girls volleyball, then cross country” or ” football, cross country, then girls volleyball.”

All Winter Sports Teams Make it Into Playoffs!

Saint Genevieve has a great athletic program and includes a variety of sports. All sports teams so far have made it off into the first round of playoffs. But only a small number have made it into the second round.

Boys Varsity Basketball Final Recap

The St. Genevieve Boys Basketball 2011-2012 season has finally reached its conclusion. The boys ended their season with a record of 15-11, becoming co-league champions, and also went into the second round of playoffs.

Boys Basketball: Road To League Champions

Boys basketball season is in full swing now and each team is hungry to win a league championship. Each team did successful during their pre-season. Before league started, the varsity team had a record of 8 wins and 7 losses, the JV team had a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, and the Frosh Soph team had a record had 1 win and 0 losses, according to maxpreps.com.

The Girls Varsity Basketball Start Off Their Season as Champions

In preseason, the girls have been playing in tournaments hosted by viewpoint and another by providence and playing their preseason games. In the viewpoint tournament they beat teams such as Malibu, Faith Baptist and Providence. They were undefeated which led them to become the Champions of the Viewpoint Tournament.

Varsity Boy’s Basketball Results

On Monday January 9, 2012, The Valiant’s Boys Varsity Basketball team played against Valley Torah High School at our home gym. From the beginning, the Valiants swept the competition ending the first quarter with a score of 29-3, with St. Gens leading. In the Second quarter, Valley Torah was able to respond finishing the the quarter by scoring 24 points overall. However, the Valiants remained dominate throughout the entire battle. The Valley Torah Wolfpack came up short to the Valiants ending the game with a score of 73-49. Linwood Foy ended the game with 25 points and eleven rebounds. Mark Chin contributed with 13 points and 3 rebounds.

Boys Varsity Basketball: Tournament Results

The boys basketball team went into this tournament with great amounts of excitement as they kick off their season at Providence High School attending the Annual Paul Sutton Tip-Off tournament.
