Prom at the Odyssey

As the spring semester comes to a conclusion, the seniors are only days away from graduation and they have reached some of  highlights of their year.  Many seniors have been looking forward to prom since their freshmen year.

Prior to any activities ASB senior class president, Enoch Waiswa, whom had organized the event along with his senior cabinet, gave a toast. He hoped for the senior class to live out their last few days.  After dinner, the dancing began with the crowning of the Prom King and Queen.

Keila Vives attended the dance with her high school sweetheart, Andrew Martin, and both were crowned Prom King and Queen.

“Honestly, prom had to be one of the highlights of my year,” said senior Keila Vives. “And honestly I never had the expectation of winning the Prom King and Queen.”

The prom king and queen danced to the song “Amazed” by Lonestar. After their dance, the dance floor was open. And though students were at first reluctant to dance, there was soon a quick rush of students from both their seats and the outer patio to the dance floor.

The seniors and their guests continued to dance the night away.  During the last minutes of the night the DJ played the last song “End of the Road” by Boyz 2 Men.

“It was an amazing night. And though I’m only a sophomore,” said Brenda Trigueros ,” I just get more and more excited of how it will be my senior year.
