Each having to reach an electoral vote of 270 or being taken upon the choice of the House of Representatives, Trump and Clinton both were confident in reaching that magic number.

Trump gained the favor of most of the country with 30 states and passing the magic number to 279 electoral votes. Clinton ended with 20 states and fell behind by 42 votes, reaching 228.

An hour before Trump’s victory, Clinton’s adviser publicly let everyone know she wouldn’t be coming out to speak. That being said, Hillary knew she wouldn’t reach that victory, but congratulated Trump on his win shortly after it was announced.

Trump set stage at his rally in New York where his supporters applauded and cheered for him. In delivering his speech, Trump thoroughly stated future accomplishments he plans to make to “make America great again”.

“Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division; we have to get together,” Trump said. “ To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people”
