Easy, and Inexpensive DIY’s for this Valentine’s Day

     Without enough time, enough money, and Valentine’s Day around the corner, the perfect gift for a friend or significant other may not be easy to find. But with these quick, easy, and inexpensive DIY’s, Valentines day will be a breeze. These DIY’s are the quickest way to your gift receiver’s heart.

Red Velvet Cake in a Jar:

What you’ll need:

Red Food Coloring

Chocolate Cake Mix

1 Cup of water

⅓ Cup of Vegetable Oil

3 Large Eggs

A Bowl, a Pan, a Mixer or Spoon

An Oven

A Mason Jar

Cream cheese Frosting

String(optional)

And a fork

    Pre-heat the oven to 350  then  pour the cake mix into the bowl along with the rest of the ingredients (eggs, oil, water) and mix until smooth and then add in the food coloring until you reach your desired color. Oil the pan and pour in the mixture; by now the oven should be ready. Safely put the pan in the oven and wait 22 minutes.

    While the caScreen Shot 2016-02-10 at 1.52.50 PMke is cooking you can make the cream cheese frosting  if it isn’t store bought. After the cake is ready, wait for it to cool down. You can use a knife to cut circles out of the cake that are appropriately sized to the mason jar or you can use the mason jar itself to cut them out, depending on the thickness of the cake, you may need 3-5 circles. Now you can put the cake in the jar followed by a layer of frosting and repeat until you reach the top. Cover the jar and tie a fork to the jar with the string. And just like that you have red velvet in a jar, enjoy the yummy treat!

Heart Eyes Emoji Pillow

What you’ll need:

Yellow, red, and black felt

Stuffing

Hot glue gun

A pencil

For this DIY, you need to be working on a flat surface. Lay out the felt and draw a large circle, around the size you want your pillow to be. Cut out two circles that are the same size and  make sure they align properly. Also cut out two hearts with the red felt  that are correctly proportioned to the circles. You also wantScreen Shot 2016-02-10 at 8.46.38 PM to cut out a mouth for your emoji. With the hot glue gun, line the edges of the circle with glue and stick the two pieces together but
make sure to leave an opening for the stuffing. once you line the edges with glue and leave the opening, flip the pillow inside out. Now you want to glue on its features. Once you are done, stuff the pillow and glue shut the remainder and just like that you have yourself a cute pillow, that almost anyone would love.

What you’ll need:and

A book page or text that is printed out on regular printer paper

Brown paper for the background, and red paper for hearts

Screen Shot 2016-02-10 at 8.56.20 PMTo begin this project you need to work on a flat surface. Lay out your papers and trace tree into the text, after this, get ready to cut it out. Use a marker to outline it if you would like. Glue the tree onto the brown background and glue two short pieces of string on so that they look like they are hanging from the tree. With the red paper, cut out two hearts and write down your name and on the other heart write down the name of the person receiving the gift.

This project is quick and easily a very thoughtful gift.
