Freshman Overnight Retreat

Saturday afternoons. The last place anyone would think to be is school. However, this is why Saint Gens is different than all the other schools. Making it only the second day of high school for the Freshman boys, their retreat was something special. At around four o’clock in the afternoon, the new Valiants started to

Music Reviews: Watch The Throne by Jay Z & Kanye West

Does Watch The Throne, one of the biggest collaboration album in hip hop live up to the hype or is it unable to overcome the expectations that many regard the album with?

Final Destination 5 Movie Review

Cheating death, omens and surviving a deathly event… Final Destination’s franchise continues with its fifth installment. The film begins with a similar prologue involving a bridge collapse that leads young individuals to seek their death. However, in this sequel, Nicholas D’Agosto, who plays Sam Lawton, foretells the other survivors deaths. Although the franchise has been criticized

Movie Reviews: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Nobody is prepared to witness the glory that is Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Now, this movie may not be the next Pulp Fiction or Requiem for a Dream but it definitely is entertaining. If you think this movie looks stupid, then you’re in for a surprise once you enter the theater. I must say though, although seeing this movie may not give some a deeper understanding of life and what not, seeing apes go insane is fun. Really, really, really fun.

A Change in My Family Homeroom

In this new school year, seniors have taken upon the job of leadership in their family homerooms.

Family homerooms this year have been designed to create a real family that would help encourage positive changes in each of the members’ lives. It is believed that this was the year to make a change with the new seniors, for them to take up leadership in a new way.

Hernandez’s SWAG SQUAD Family Homeroom

This year the Hollywood Bowl experience took a whole new direction. As St. Genevieve High School chose to watch musical sensation Hairspray there were a lot of preparations that took place.

The Hernandez homeroom was very much pleased with every single moment. However, there were also questions that arose in which made the Hernandez family homeroom very worried. Does everyone know when to bring their field trip slip? Do we all know what we want to eat.

Running, or is it something better?

Shoes, determination, will, and spandex. These are some key elements that are needed to be successful in one of the toughest sports St. Genevieve High School has to offer. With only about twenty-five runners at the beginning of the season, it seemed, once again, like one of those years. However, it was a better turnout

SGHS Dance Teams visit UCLA

August 9-12 both the Girl’s and Boy’s Dance teams went to the University of California Los Angeles to try and qualify for the National Dance Team Championship in Florida. Each day consisted of various exercises and activities.

Ms. Unicorn Homeroom

On the evening of August 5 in Los Angeles, California, Saint Genevieve High School was preparing to attend their annual Hollywood Bowl trip. This year’s the event held in the Hollywood Bowl was a live, bustling reenactment of the play Hairspray with Marissa Janet Winokur as Tracy Turnblad and Nick Jonas as Link Larkin, along with many other big names such as John Stamos and Drew Carey.

My family homeroom, Miss Unicorns, along with all other family homerooms were given only 4 days, set up as 45 minute class at the end of the day, to prepare for the event.
